Ultimate Charters supports sustainable fishing. We all depend on the ocean, which is home to the greatest abundance of life on our planet — and we want it to stay that way.
Our approach
- Take only what you need. We encourage our customers to only take home what they really need, releasing the rest.
- Quality over quantity. We're proud of the strong snapper fishery in the Hauraki Gulf and we'd like to keep it that way.
- Best practice release. Our crew help customers release fish carefully so they survive to spawn again.
- Respect for MPI rules. All catches comply with Ministry for Primary Industries size and bag limits.
Beyond fishing
The Hauraki Gulf is more than a fishery — it's a treasured ecosystem with dolphins, orca, gannets, Bryde's whales and 50-odd islands, many of them pest-free conservation reserves. We're licensed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) and Auckland Council to visit pest-free islands and are committed to keeping them that way. Read our pest-free pledge.
